Mobility is a key element of living independently, enabling one to perform all the necessary activities for daily living. It supports independence and the ability to have a higher quality of life. Therefore, individuals who are deprived of this right due to disease or amputation are robbed of their ability to live a full, productive and socially interactive life. This is more-so for people with lower limb disability.
In a recent (observational study) (hyperlink) conducted in 2016, it was reported that there are approximately 6 amputees per 1000 population. The total number of people with different motor disabilities is much higher. We at TAF aim to facilitate PwDs with mobility aids based on their level of activity and lifestyle.
To achieve this, we have partnered with several service providers for prosthetic limbs and other ambulatory devices for people with motor disability across India.
Our founder Tinkesh who decided to pursue sports as a passion and fitness as a career with 90% motor disability, struggled to get the right prosthetics and still does whenever he needs an upgrade for his high activity level. He wants to make it more accessible for other aspiring athletes and other individuals with amputations.
Everyone should be able to move independently.
