With an MS in Psychology from Syracuse University, and a PhD in Couple and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech University, Dr. Shankar has over 9 years of clinical experience in couple and family therapy, has done clinical work, with couples and families living with a disability or chronic illness and currently runs a private practice called Therapy at Bay. Dr. Shankar is currently a professor at the University of San Francisco’s psychology program. She works with children, adolescents, college students, and other minority groups which includes, ethnic, racial, immigrant, refugee & LGBTQ+ communities.
As a Disability Affirmative Counsellor and Advisory Director, she is a great asset to TAF and supervises the Mental Health Vertical. Dr. Shankar oversees the functioning and controls that are essential for ensuring, integrity & ethical practices.
Dr. Manasi Shankar is an avid reader, particularly drawn to literary fiction and finds a sense of calm and tranquillity in reading at coffee shops with a warm cup of tea. She also deeply values spending quality time with her friends and family, cherishing every moment with them and is a secret poet.
