By definition Inclusive Fitness spaces are gyms and studios where staff & trainers, welcome respect and represent members of all body shapes and sizes, ability levels, ages, identities and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Many of the above categories of people have slowly managed to find acceptance in a place which was once solely dominated by the Alpha male. It’s now time for People with Disabilities to get accepted and integrated into the fitness space.
This means, creating a space with accessibility, a safe environment, adaptive equipment, well trained coaches and compassionate staff. With so many para-athletes in India, bringing laurels home, we have to create a nurturing environment for People with Disabilities to realize their passion and potential.
Our founder Tinkesh wanted, not only to pursue his personal fitness goals but become a fitness coach. For a person with 90% motor disability, this seemed like a pipe dream. He was refused entr into gyms and even rejected as a trainer once he was certified. So he opened his own inclusive gym, which had to be closed down due to COVID -19. But the time had come to make this a norm rather than an exception.
